Then I prayed to the God of heaven - Neh 2:4

Asking in the Name of Jesus – God answers prayers!

I heard someone quote a statistic that said that only 20% of Christians pray. I found this strange. I would like to be so bold as to say maybe only 20% of those who “call themselves Christians” pray for it is impossible, yes impossible to be a true believer in Christ and to have a relationship with Christ without praying. Being a Christian and not praying will be like a fish taken out of water, you will very quickly lose all your power and die.

Unfortunately I will say that there are many true believers who spend very little time in prayer and that is why they don’t have all that God has intended for them to have. It is probably the main reason why they are living ineffective lives without blessing and revelation. We don’t earn the answers to our prayers by praying or gain merits for blessings or favor when we pray, thank God, through Jesus Christ we have access to it all but if you are not praying you are not tapping into all that god has for you. You are not exercising your dominion and thus the devil is running amuck in your life.

John 16: 23-24 (AMP)

In that day you will not need to ask me anything. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My Name as my representative, He will give you.

Untill now you have not asked the Father for anything in my Name; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive so that your joy will be full and complete.

Do you have faith?

Do you have faith? We look at what faith is and what pleases God. We also see how we can test if we have real faith?

Heb 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].
Hebrews 11:1 AMP

1. He who has faith has renownced his own righteousness. If you put just one atom of trust in yourself you have no faith.

2. If you put any trust in anything else than what Christ did you have no faith.
If you trust in your works your works are anti-christ and anti-christ and Christ does not go together.

3. Do you have a great esteem for Christ? Do you love His Name? Do you love His people?

4. He who has true faith has true obedience. He who claims to have faith and has no works lies and if anyone claims he believes in Christ yet does not lead a Holy life He makes a mistake. For while we do not trust or believe on good works we know that faith always begets good works.

Are you a warrior or a worrier?

All of us are looking for peace whether you know it or not we search for it consciously or subconsciously. The problem for some and the solution as we learn is this; that apart from Jesus Christ there is no true peace. Perhaps we are sometimes unaware that we are looking for peace as we misinterpret our search for peace as a search for gratification or satisfaction and approval.

It is in this search for peace or satisfaction that people often fall to the lure of drugs and alcohol abuse or even the promises of the occult but because there can be no true peace apart from Jesus and no real hope apart from Jesus we usually end up having to graduate to a better drug, or sexual acts with our drugs, when our drugs and sex still don’t satisfy we fall into deeper or deeper perversions or others fall into deeper and deeper depression. Some think that they need more power and we drown ourselves in false counterfeit promises of self-help books or success or humanism or education or whatever idol we can find that we imagine will give us what we need, want or desire. In the end they all end up leaving you lacking and still without peace or the satisfaction or gratification you want.

Ask God for skills and abilities!

Have you ever said to yourself  “I just can’t do this” or “how am I going to do this?” In some of our previous videos and blog posts we discussed how we should ask God to bless our plans and to give us wisdom and favor. Today we look at skills and abilities and if it is scriptural to ask God to give us skills and abilities to perform the work that He has called us to do according to His will and purpose.

Be persistent in prayer!

We look at prayer and we take scripture from Colossians 4:2-6 In the video for this post we discuss how prayer is a vital part of walking in faith and walking in paths of righteousness. We’ve learnt that Jesus is the Lamb of God who has taken away the sin of the world, we’ve learnt that we need to meditate on the word of God and that we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit as to receive power to walk in faith and to understand scripture so we can live out our salvation. Today we learn about prayer and how prayer is vital in the walk of every believer and how without prayer it is even impossible for us to be an effective witness to unbelievers.
